Irati
We are located 20km from the Irati Forest. It is said that Irati is the largest forest mass in Europe after the Black Forest in Germany. Undoubtedly, it is one of the largest forests of silver fee and beech. It comprises an area of 12.000 hectares filled with silver fees and beech trees surrounded by the valleys of Aezkoa and Salazar. Today, the forest is home to wild boars, roe deer and wild cats. At the heart of the forest, you can find one of the most beautiful spots of Navare: the lake of IRABIA, which can be accessed from Orbaizeta.
Roncesvalles
COLEGIATA is the most famous sight in Roncesvalles. Its origin remains uncertain due to the legend surrounding it. It is believed that the Bishop of Sancho de Rosa and Kind Alfonso I the Warrior founded the church, the hospital and the Order of Roncesvalles in 1127, although in 1132 it was moved to its current location. The gothic COLEGIATA is home to the Virgin of Orreaga. In the cloisters is the chapter hall or Chapel of San Agustin. The statue of Sancho VII the Great, who won the battle of Navas de Tolosa.
Sorogain
Sorogain is another treasure that you should not miss visiting if you would like to enjoy a walk surrounded by beech trees! Just five minutes from where we are you can enter the Sorogain forest, where every year the mark of the cattle that will graze from Spring to Autumn, including both local cattle and from France.
There is also an inn in this area. At the Sorabil clear the festivity of the Erro valley is celebrated the first Sunday after Los Sanfermines (music, rural sports, local food and games for children.
